Los Angeles (Tuesday, April 20, 2010)—For the past 44 years, the month of May has been proclaimed “Older Americans Month” by the President of the United States.  On April 20, 2010, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will declare May as Older Americans Month and proclaim May 10th and 19st as Older Americans Recognition Days (OARD).  These two days are being dedicated by the Board of Supervisors to honor those outstanding senior citizen volunteers who have been nominated by their local municipalities and senior organizations.
