The training will prepare local area firefighters from L.A. Demonstrations will include fireline construction, use of portable water tanks, foam application utilizing Compressed Air Foam, helicopter water drops and the use of hand tools in the wildland firefighting environment.

Residents living in the County’s wildland areas are also urged to prepare their landscaping, homes and themselves for the fire season, using the Department’s “Ready! Set! Go” Wildfire Action Plan, available on its website at http://fire.lacounty.gov/SafetyPreparedness/ReadySetGo/home.asp.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department is one of the largest emergency service agencies in the world, providing fire protection and life safety services to more than 3.8 million residents and commercial business customers in the County’s 2,305-square-mile area, and around the globe when needed.
