Los Angeles County South Coast Botanic Garden,

“The Jewel of the Peninsula” to Celebrate 50 Year Anniversary with Grand Community Event

                       

 

What:             The Los Angeles County South Coast Botanic Garden will celebrate its 50th Anniversary serving and providing the public with a beautiful outdoor natural area this Saturday, April 17, 2010 with a special ceremonial event and Open House.  The day will feature an official ceremony with dignitaries and activities for the entire family.  The open house will include free guided tram and walking tours of the Garden, music & art in the Garden, Garden community exhibits, children’s activities, Garden lectures, a Golf Putting Green, a food court and a spring plant sale on the upper meadow.  

 

Who:              Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe, Los Angeles County Director of Parks and Recreation Director Russ Guiney, South Coast Botanic Garden Foundation, Inc., more than 40 community exhibitors and vendors, hundreds of families enjoying the celebration and more.
