SHERIFF BACA TO WORK AS A BOOKING DEPUTY AT THE

INMATE RECEPTION CENTER AFTER THE PRESS CONFERENCE

THAT FIGHTS TO KEEP VICTIMS’ IDENTITIES PRIVATE

 

           

WHO:              SHERIFF LEE BACA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT; CALIFORNIA STATE ASSEMBLY MEMBER NORMA TORRES, 61ST DISTRICT; CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER PATRICIA WENSKUNAS, CRIME SURVIVORS, INC.; AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS FROM THE PASADENA AND INGLEWOOD POLICE DEPARTMENTS.

 

WHAT:            SHERIFF BACA AND ASSEMBLY MEMBER TORRES WILL DISCUSS  ASSEMBLY BILL 1682, WHICH WILL ALLOW VICTIMS OF CRIMES THE OPTION TO KEEP THEIR PERSONAL INFORMATION CONFIDENTIAL.  THIS BILL SEEKS TO GIVE THE VICTIM PRIVACY WHILE NOT IMPEDING THE  FLOW OF PUBLIC INFORMATION.
