ANTONOVICH AND MOLINA EXTEND $20,000 REWARD
IN MURDER OF SHERIFF’S DEPUTY JUAN ESCALANTE
LOS ANGELES COUNTY – Los Angeles County Supervisors Michael D. Antonovich and Gloria Molina extended a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the murder of Sheriff’s Deputy Juan Escalante.
On Saturday, August 2nd, at approximately 5:40 a.m., twenty-seven-year-old Sheriff’s Deputy Juan Escalante was shot and killed in front of his mother’s home in Cypress Park.
Deputy Escalante had been employed with the Sheriff’s Department for approximately 2- ½ years and was assigned to guard some of the most violent inmates housed in the County’s Men’s Central Jail. He was also a military veteran who had served in Iraq.
The Los Angeles Police Department is seeking the public’s help with information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for this crime.
