LA COUNTY SUPERVISOR MICHAEL D. ANTONOVICH CONTINUES HIS ANNUAL “TRAIL DUSTERS RIDE” AT WALNUT CREEK IN FRANK G. BONELLI REGIONAL PARK IN SAN DIMAS, CALIFORNIA
(SAN DIMAS, CA) – La County Supervisor, Michael D. Antonovich continues his annual “Antonovich Trail Dusters” at Walnut Creek (staging at Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park, 120 E. Via Verde Road, San Dimas, CA 91773) on Sunday, October 26th, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. The event starts off with a pancake breakfast at 7:00 a.m., with the ride commencing at 9:00 a.m. through the scenic trails of Walnut Creek and concluding with a traditional barbeque and live country western music. The ride is estimated to be three to four hours with two fifteen-minute rest stops and refreshment breaks. Riding conditions include a combination of rolling hills, some semi-steep hills and level areas. Tickets prices per person are $25.00.
For reservations and event information call (909) 599-8411. The reservation deadline is October 23rd, 2008. Non-riders are welcome, and riders under the age of eighteen 18, must be accompanied by an adult. No stallions or dogs allowed.
The “Antonovich Trail Dusters Ride” began in 1992 and due to popularity, culminated into bi-annual events. The purpose of the event is to promote public awareness of the vast multiple use trails system throughout the County of Los Angeles and trails connecting with other municipal trail systems that are available for the enjoyment of trail enthusiasts.
The event is sponsored by LA County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich and the Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation in conjunction with Rocky Hill Riders, Sylmar Vista Del Valle, San Fernando, Shadow Hills Rough Riders and the Los Angeles County Mounted Police Unit.
Approximately 100 -150 riders look forward to participating each year, generally providing their own horses, however, horses are available for rent with Graham Brothers at (760) 245-7695.
