PRESS CONFERENCE TO ANNOUNCE MANDATORY EVACUATIONS

The Foothill Incident Command will hold a press conference today (Tuesday) at 5:30 p.m. to announce details of mandatory evacuations being ordered in advance of a major storm that is due to hit the foothills area beginning tomorrow.

The press conference will be held at Joint Incident Command, Fire Camp 2, 4810 N. Oak Grove Drive, in La Cañada Flintridge. 

The evacuations will affect a total of 587 homes in La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Acton, unincorporated areas of Glendale and the City of Glendale. Full details of the evacuations, including the addresses of the homes as well as Red Cross evacuation shelters will be provided at the press conference.

Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich (5th District) is expected at attend the conference together with the Joint Incident Commanders.

The Foothill Incident Management Team is a multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional team formed following the recent wildfires in the County to plan for and respond to anticipated larger-than-normal runoff and debris flows within communities downstream of the burned areas.
