WHAT: SHERIFF BACA AND OTHER HIGH-RANKING FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL OFFICIALS WILL DISCUSS OPERATION “GOLDEN GUARDIAN.” THIS MULTI-AGENCY TRAINING EXERCISE SIMULATES A 7.8 EARTHQUAKE THAT DESTROYS INFRASTRUCTURE, INJURES RESIDENTS, FORCES PEOPLE TO FIND SHELTER AT LARGE VENUES, AND RESULTS IN THE ACTIVATION OF MILITARY SUPPORT. THE HEART OF THE OPERATION WILL BE CONDUCTED FROM THE COUNTY EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER LOCATED AT THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY EMERGENCY OPERATIONS BUREAU.
