ADVENTURE COUNTY PARK EXPECTS TO FEED APPROXIMATELY 2, 000 PEOPLE TODAY!
Los Angeles – The County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation serves thousands of park patrons each year within our park system and today starting at 5:00 p.m. more than 2,000 children, families and seniors are expected to line up at Adventure County Park 10130 South Gunn Avenue Whittier, CA 90605 to receive a free Thanksgiving Dinner.
Volunteers and park staff having been preparing the dinner since Monday and are geared up to serve a dinner including more than 30 turkeys to the massive crowd. Holidays such as Thanksgiving can be an exciting time for friends and loved ones, but too often those in our community go without a dinner due to financial hardships or don’t have loved ones to spend that time with. For the past decade many Los Angeles County Parks have made the effort to be a second family for those who don’t have anywhere to celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Adventure County Park will open their doors to serve Thanksgiving Dinner to those who need it the most.
Please see details regarding today’s dinner. If you’re interested in covering this event as a news story, please contact Catarah Hampshire, Public Information Assistant, at 310-261-8024 or champshire@parks.lacounty.gov
