Board honors the Los Angeles County Skid Row Assessment Team for its efforts to permanently house more than 200 homeless families.

 

Status report to be given on transition to new LAC+USC Medical Center.  (Item S-1, 11 a.m.) RECEIVED AND FILED

 

One-year extension proposed to help stabilize 65 families transferred to permanent housing in Skid Row project, at cost of $237,000.    (Item 6) APPROVED

 

Grant would provide $47,893 for bulletproof vests for Sheriff, District Attorney and Office of Public Safety personnel. (Item 10) APPROVED

 

Acceptance of $873,000 grant would fund project management costs associated with the implementation of child welfare program designed to improve outcomes for children and families.  (Item 14) APPROVED

 

$28.3 million proposal would resolve all remaining construction/contract disputed issues with the general contractor associated with the LAC+USC Medical Center replacement project, and would not exceed $924,713,218 project budget.   (Item 19) APPROVED

 

$114,365 proposal would offset Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association’s cost of shuttling the public to-and-from the post-Rose Parade viewing venue for 2009-11.  (Item 21) APPROVED

 

Board asked to approve plans for preconstruction phase of the North Los Angeles/Kern County Regional Recycled Water project, designed to increase the water service reliability in Lancaster, Palmdale and surrounding unincorporated communities of Antelope Valley.  (Item 22) APPROVED

 

$126,750 proposal would fund installation of solar-powered bus stop shelters/benches/trash receptacles in Hacienda Heights/South San Jose Hills/West Arcadia area.   (Item 27) APPROVED

 

$1.1 million proposal would fund IBM contract to implement computer vehicle management system for Fire Department.  (Item 29) APPROVED

 

Proposal would allow the Sheriff’s Department to provide law enforcement services for the 120th Tournament of Roses Parade, at estimated cost of $727,702 for the City of Pasadena.  (Item 31) APPROVED

 

$335,000 settlement proposed for medical negligence lawsuit arising from treatment received by patient while hospitalized at Olive View Medical Center.   (Item 33, cont. from 12/2) APPROVED

 

Report would identify total projected costs of amendment to agreement for eCAPS, the County’s electronic accounting and payroll system.  (Item 38) REFERRED BACK TO THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICE

 

In response to suicide of 14-year-old student, Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich asks that an anti-bullying and harassment public outreach effort program be organized in the Acton and Agua Dulce area.  (Item 39-C) APPROVED

 

Board asked to extend $10,000 rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of persons responsible for the murder of  Bryan Miranda in Santa Clarita in 2007 and Angel Martinez in Lancaster last March.   (Items 39-D and 39-E)  APPROVED

 

Sheriff asks that his staff be allowed to charter a plane to Washington, D.C. to provide security services for the presidential inauguration at maximum $533,000 cost, with reimbursement provided by the District of Columbia.  (Item 39-F)  SHERIFF CONT. TO 12/16

 

Board in closed session discusses lawsuit for damages resulting from alleged wrongful death of Edith Isabel Rodriguez at MLK-Drew Medical Center.  (CS-1)
