REGISTRAR-RECORDER/COUNTY CLERK’S FLORENCE/FIRESTONE BRANCH OFFICE CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTION
Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC) Dean Logan announced today that the RR/CC Florence/Firestone Branch Office, located at 7807 S. Compton Avenue, Room 215, Los Angeles, CA 90001, will temporarily shut down due to renovation after the close of business on Friday, December 12, 2008.
The Community Center, which houses the Florence/Firestone Branch Office, will be renovated entirely requiring tenant departments to vacate the facility. The start of construction is slated to begin next January with completion targeted for October 2009. Logan said, “With the new remodeling the Branch Office relocates from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor providing for additional office space in which to service the public. Once reopened, all RR/CC services provided prior to the renovation will remain unchanged. We anticipate reopening the Branch Office in November 2009.
Services can be obtained at other RR/CC offices located throughout the county. The three locations closest to Florence/Firestone and the services provided at each location are:

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. 3rd Thursday of the month (extended hours Norwalk office only)
Only birth, death, and marriage record copies, marriage licenses, marriage ceremonies and real estate record copies are available during extended hours.
