Jamiel's Law: TV Tonight, Filing Deadline Friday

Jamiel's Law: TV Tonight, Friday Filing Deadline
By Walter Moore, Candidate for Mayor of Los Angeles, WalterMooreForMayor.com
December 1, 2008

Tonight, Sergeant Anita Shaw will take the case for Jamile's Law nation-wide by appearing on Sean Hannity's TV show on the Fox network at 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Don't miss it!

And Friday is the LAST day to file the petitions in time to put Jamiel's Law on the ballot in May 2009 -- which means the time for you to take action is now:

If you have already collected signatures, then please sign and date the last page as a circulator and get your petitions to the Shaws no later than Thursday. Please deliver them to:

The Shaw Family
2136 Fifth Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90018

If you have not signed the petition since August 7, 2008 -- signatures "expire" after 120 days -- please either go sign it this week at one of the locations at JamielsLaw.com, or download it, sign it and return it to the address above.

The Shaws have collected over 60,000 signatures. They only need another 14,000 to put this on the ballot for May 2009. Let's make it happen.

If I win the Mayor's race on March 3, 2009, I can and will put Jamiel's Law into place on July 1, 2009 when I'm sworn into office; indeed, I will revoke Special Order 40 in its entirety. However, it is still in our interest to put Jamiel's Law's on the ballot for May 2009 because: a) there's no guarantee I'll win, of course; and b) passing Jamiel's Law will send a strong message to other politicians that we, the people, will take action to prevent our cities from being sanctuaries for gangs instead of families, and those politicians better join us if they want to stay in office.
