Jamiel's Law: The Shaws Did It!

Jamiel's Law: The Shaws Did It!

I just got off the phone with Althea Shaw, who told me that, shortly before 5:00 p.m. today, she and her family filed over 76,000 signatures to put Jamiel's Law on the petition!

That is a HUGE accomplishment. With a budget of nothing, the Shaw Family worked and worked and worked to get over 76,000 people to unite to put Jamiel's Law on the ballot. If you have ever approached a stranger coming out of Von's with a clipboard in your hands, you know how amazing an accomplishment this was.

The Shaws have just proved that we, the people, have the power.

And they have sent an important political message to the Mayor, the City Council, and every politician in America: We, the people, are fed up with "sanctuary city" policies that protect illegal alien gang members instead of law-abiding citizens, and we will repeal laws and replace politicians who stand in our way.

Please join me in congratulating the Shaw family for their terrific accomplishment. While you're at it, why not urge Althea Shaw to run for the State Senate seat that Mark Ridley-Thomas just vacated? Isn't she exactly the kind of person we want representing us in Sacramento?

You can tell the Shaws how much you appreciate their hard work by e-mailing them at: JamielsLaw@live.com. Please take a minute to do so. They need to know how much we appreciate how hard they worked to protect our families from experiencing the kind of heartbreaking loss they have suffered.

And then get ready for the Shaws' next move to help save our city, county, state and nation: I'm going to draft a version of Jamiel's Law for the County of Los Angeles, and the Shaws are going to ask the County Board of Supervisors to adopt it.
