Mental Health participating in HOMELESS CONNECT DAY ON 12/4/08

MENTAL HEALTH STAFF WILL TEAM-UP WITH COUNTY AND COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS IN PROVIDING MUCH NEEDED ASSISTANCE TO HOMELESS FAMILIES

 

WHAT:             The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (DMH) staff will team-up with County and community-based organizations in providing much needed assistance to the homeless residing in Los Angeles Skid Row, East & South Los Angeles, Glendale and Pomona as part of “National Project Homeless Connect Day” in Los Angeles County. DMH staff will be on-site to provide assessment, conduct intake process, referrals, as well as connect the homeless to the Department’s Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Full Service Partnership and Housing programs that provides assistance to all ages.

“National Project Homeless Connect Day” is a national initiative designed to bring together government and community-based organizations in providing much needed assistance to the homeless. The day serves to connect individuals and families to County and community-based services that can provide mental health, health, aid, food, child care, and shelter assistance with the goal of helping them achieve self-sufficiency.
