TO HOST 12TH ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER AND TOY GIVEAWAY
LA PUENTE, CA – The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, the Bassett Soccer League and the National Valley Soccer League will host the 12TH Annual Christmas Dinner and Toy Giveaway for low income families on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. The celebration will be at Los Angeles County Bassett Park, located at 510 N. Vineland Avenue, La Puente CA, 91746.
For more than a decade, representatives from the leagues have distributed applications to local schools with teachers choosing low income students and their families to attend the Christmas Dinner. Families enjoy dinner and performances by local entertainers and children receive toys from Santa Claus.
Founded in 1996 by Los Angeles County Park and Recreation employees Ricardo S. Mira and Albert Gomez, the Bassett Soccer League and the National Valley Soccer League have worked to promote an active lifestyle among children and adults through the sport and are also committed to helping their community.

- Low income families enjoying a traditional Mexican Holiday Dinner (6:30 – 7:30 p.m.*)
- Performance by a Mariachi Band (6:30 – 7:30 p.m.*)
- Performances by children from the Ballet Folklorico de Carolina de La Puente (7:30 – 9:00 p.m.*)
- Low income children receiving toys from Santa Claus (9:00 – 10:00 p.m.*)
