prescribed burn in La Canada Flintridge

PRESCRIBED BURN

                       La Canada Flintridge Area

La Canada Flintridge (CA) – Weather, air quality and fuel conditions permitting, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department, will conduct a prescription burn of 8 acres at the Descanso Gardens of

La Canada Flintridge.  Prescription burns are part of an on-going fuel modification/hazard reduction projects.

Residents in the area and surrounding areas may experience some temporary noise, fire engines presence and working hand crews during the burn.  There may also be some temporary inconvenience from smoke odors, particularly to smoke-sensitive persons.

The goal of this project is to reduce the amount of vegetation “fuel” within this area, as well as diminish the potential for the spread of embers from a wildland fire.  When completed, this project will significantly reduce the potential impact of a wildfire in the area
