“999 FOR KIDS” ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

 

           

WHO:              SHERIFF LEE BACA AND ASSISTANT SHERIFF MARVIN CAVANAUGH,

                        LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT.

 

WHAT:            SHERIFF BACA WILL HOST THE “999 FOR KIDS” ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY.  THE “999 FOR KIDS” PROGRAM PROVIDES SERVICES FOR CHILDREN WHO ARE VICTIMS OF THE MOST SEVERE CASES OF CHILD ABUSE, NEGLECT, AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.  THE MONEY RAISED FOR “999 FOR KIDS” IS USED TO PURCHASE SPECIALTY ITEMS SUCH AS SPORT WHEELCHAIRS, COMPUTERS, SPECIAL EDUCATION CLASSES, AND MEDICALLY-ORIENTED TOYS AND GAMES.  CLOTHING WILL BE DONATED TO THE CHILDREN COURTESY OF THE FASHION INSTITUTE OF DESIGN AND MERCHANDISING.  SANTA CLAUS WILL BE PRESENT TO HAND OUT TOYS AND, FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, THERE WILL BE A “WINTER WONDERLAND” OF REAL SNOW AND CHRISTMAS TREES FOR THE KIDS TO ENJOY.
