How To Vote On Two L.A. Ballot Measures in the March 2009 Election

How To Vote On Two L.A. Ballot Measures in the March 2009 Election

If you'd like to exercise your noggin while quaffing your nog, visit VoteNoLA.com. That's a website I've set up to address two proposed Charter amendments on the March 2009 ballot.

Yours truly was selected -- through a process which, mercifully, did not involve a swimsuit competition -- to write the official ballot arguments against these measures.

One measure would authorize City Hall to continue its multimillion-dollar annual "welfare for the rich" program.

The other measure would add yet another layer of bureaucracy to City Hall, ostensibly to prevent more Tennie Pierce situations, but we're already paying an army of people to deal with that now.

And in case you didn't notice the first 923,017 times I mentioned it, a "Walter Moore For Mayor" yard sign sure would look great next to the reindeer and Frosty in your yard. Plus, the bumper stickers are almost guaranteed to get you at least one "thumb's up" per day from your fellow commuters.

More to the point, they are a cost-efficient way for us to spread the word, because we don't have the millions of dollars of special interest money that Villaraigosa will use to blanket the airwaves with ads. We've literally got to take our campaign to the streets so people will know they have a good alternative to Villaraigosa. Click here to get a sign and a sticker.

Have a terrific Christmas. As for a happy New Year, well, something tells me 2009 will finally be a very good year for our city.
