How Many Illegal Aliens Live In L.A.? By Walter Moore, Candidate For Mayor Of Los Angeles, WalterMooreForMayor.com August 26, 2008 According to figures released by the U.S. Census Bureau today, of the 3.8 million people who live in the City of Los Angeles, at least 928,416 are "Foreign born; Not a Citizen." That's over 24% of the city's entire population. To put that into perspective, the California Secretary of State says there are 834,406 voters registered as Democrats in the City of Los Angeles, 300,129 as "Decline to State," and 278,645 as Republicans. Are you wrapping your gray matter around that one? There are more foreign-born non-citzens in our city than there are registered Democrats. And there are more than three foreign-born non-citizens for each independent, or each Republican. Furthermore, 225,994 of L.A.'s foreign-born non-citizens live below the so-called "poverty level." So we've got over a quarter of a million foreigners living in our city below the poverty level. We are importing poverty, big-time. By the way, the Census reports, "The official poverty definition uses money income before taxes and does not include capital gains or noncash benefits (such as public housing, Medicaid, and food stamps)." Makes you wonder how much we're shelling out for those "noncash benefits," doesn't it? The Census did not report on how many of L.A.'s foreign-born non-citizens are here illegally. Nor, of course, did the Census report on how many vote illegally. If you care about America's second-biggest city, don't just sit there shaking your head in disbelief. Help me become L.A.'s next Mayor, so I can revoke the "sanctuary city" policies that are ruining this once-great city. Click here to take action. |
