HOST ANNUAL MULTI-AGENCY BRUSH SCRIMMAGE/EXERCISE IN “TONNER CANYON”
Who: Los Angeles County Fire Department along with agencies from Chino Valley Fire Department, Cal Fire Department, Garden Grove Fire Department, Santa Ana Fire Department, Brea Fire Department, Fullerton City Fire Department and the Orange County Fire Authority
What: These agencies will converge in the Tonner Canyons of Diamond Bar for simulated, hands on Brush Fire Scrimmage/Exercise hosted by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The scrimmage goals and objectives are to foster multi-agency relationships and to enhance common multiagency organization when addressing a multi-agency response like a brush. It will also improve the professional relationship with other agencies that may be needed during a major wildfire emergency like last years “Freeway Fire”.
Visuals: Actual firefighting techniques and tactics used to combat brush fires including
Command post operations, brush fire tactics and strategies using fire crews, camp crews, and water dropping helicopters.
When: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, June 10-12th, 2009
8:30 am -12 pm each day. Briefing begins promptly at 0900 hrs
