County Implements Emergency Mass Notification System

 

 

WHO:              Board of Supervisors Chairman Don Knabe, Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, Undersheriff Larry Waldie, Fire Chief P. Michael Freeman, Office of Emergency Management Director John Fernandes, and Acting Chief Information Officer Richard Sanchez

                                                           

WHAT:           Will  announce the implementation of Alert LA County, the County’s new emergency mass notification system, which will be used to notify residents and businesses of emergencies in their area.   All land-line phone numbers have been programmed into the system, but the public on Thursday will also be able to go online and register their cell phones, Voice over IP numbers, and e-mail addresses.
