PUBLIC DEFENDER HOSTS INTERNATIONAL VISITORS

 

 

 

Public Defender Michael P. Judge on Thursday will host a group of dignitaries from Bahrain, Egypt, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia to discuss criminal justice issues.

 

The delegation, which includes judges, prosecutors, private attorneys, a justice minister and a member of Parliament, is visiting to study judicial independence; municipal, state and federal courts; the role of the court in preserving individual rights and ensuring government accountability; and the criminal justice system.

 

The meeting, to be held at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center, will bring to 45 the number of countries that have sent representatives to meet with Judge to discuss criminal justice matters.
