NOTICE
Today, Judge Vaughn R. Walker issued the ruling in the Same-Sex Marriage case entitled Perry v. Schwarzenegger, Case No. C 09-2292VRW, in which he found Proposition 8 to be unconstitutional. Please be advised that the final entry of the judgment has been stayed by order of the Court (Order granting stay attached). The stay of the entry of the judgment will remain in effect until a motion to stay pending appeal has been resolved. Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean Logan said that “the RR/CC will comply with the orders of the court, and as such are unable to expand our services to same sex couples until entry of the final judgment. We will continue to monitor any new developments and will take immediate action to implement the Court’s ruling once it becomes effective.”
