Monday Event: County Announces Expansion of Debris Basin in Station Fire Burn Area

COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS TO ENLARGE DEBRIS BASIN

IN STATION FIRE BURN AREA

 

The Los Angeles Public Works Department will hold a media conference in La Crescenta at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 30 to announce the details of a $1.2 million project to enlarge six debris basins within the Station Fire burn area.  Speakers will include Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, County Public Works Director Gail Farber, La Cañada Flintridge Mayor Donald R. Voss, and La Crescenta Town Council President Cheryl Lee.  The Project is being completed as part of the preparation for the upcoming storm season.  The debris basins are part of the County's flood control system and serve as a first line of defense against mud and debris flows.
