ALONDRA COUNTY PARK BREAKS GROUND FOR $26 MILLION RENOVATION PROJECT
WHAT: County of Los Angeles Supervisor Yvonne B. Burke, 2nd District and Russ Guiney, County of Los Angeles Parks and Recreation Director, will participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for a multi-million dollar project at Alondra County Park in Lawndale, Monday, September 8, 2008 at 4:30 p.m. Residents, community leaders and park staff are expected to attend the ceremony. The project will include a new 25 meter competitive swimming pool, new ADA access pool house and recreational staff offices, a 4,000 sq. ft. water play area (splash pad) an 18,000 sq. ft. in ground Skate Park and a new community building on the north side of the park.
