In response to the recent downturn in financial markets, House Democrats led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Congressman Henry Waxman are calling for an investigation into Wall Street. The hearings will call Lehman Brothers chief executive Richard Fuld and Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson, among other officials, to testify on Capitol Hill. The investigation will examine the reasons behind the recent string of bankruptcies and bailouts and explore further government regulations the next administration might adopt.

Ask the Chief

Chief Bratton returns for another installment of Ask the Chief- where the Chief answers Patt's questions and yours on the LAPD. Department officials have recommended that four LAPD officers be fired for their roles in last year's May Day rally in MacArthur Park, which ended in a clash between officers, demonstrators and journalists. Too tough? Not tough enough? We talk about it. And LA’s murder rates are way down, the lowest since the summer of love in 1967 – what's changed? We hear about it and take your calls about policing the city of Angels.
